I have  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Math Education from University of South Florida and earned my Master’s degree in Instruction Design & Learning at University of Maryland Baltimore County. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Special Education.

Tutoring Subjects:

I have many years’ experience teaching middle grades mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Probability & Statistics and SAT/ACT Math Prep.  I have also taught and tutored at the college level in the transitional math courses such as Basic Math, Introductory Algebra and Intermediate Algebra.

Ages Ive Worked With:

I have both taught in the classroom and tutored students from all ages including middle school (6th- 8th grade), high school (9th-12th grade) and college level.  My students have come from various levels of ability including those that struggle with math to those in advanced/honors classes.

My Tutoring Style:

With my years of experience, I bring not only a wealth of knowledge but a strong ability to be very patient with each of my students.  I understand that not everyone enjoys mathematics as much as I do.  I believe that helping the students see that the math is not as scary as they may think is the first step in helping them.  I concentrate on making sure each student feels confident and motivated to put forth their best effort to be successful.  I try to incorporate many different teaching techniques in order to make the math topics easier and much more enjoyable for the student.

Success Story:

Years ago, a 4th grade student came to me struggling in her math class.  She was already halfway through the year and her teacher was discussing with her parents about possibly holding her back.   After reviewing her strengths and weaknesses, we came up with a solid studying plan.   We started by working on many of the previous years’ topics that she had trouble with and then moved on the 4th grade topics from the beginning of the year.  Within a few months, she not only passed the course with an A but earned a 93% on her end-of-year assessment.  I continue to tutor her to this day and she is excelling in all her “now favorite” math classes.

Hobbies & Interests:

  1. Golf (I have been playing since I was 4 years old)
  2. Tennis (Getting better but still need practice)
  3. Run/Exercise
