Tutoring since 2012
I am a very articulate and experienced teacher with many years of tutoring and teaching experience in elementary, middle, and high school. I have an MBA from the University of Houston and I tutor grades PreK-12.
My tutoring style:
I always have the highest expectations of my students and focus on student centered learning. This is an approach I have found to pay rich dividends in terms of a student’s academic and personal development.
Success story:
I tutored a 7th grader who excelled on the SAT and was eligible for college in the 7th grade based on his outstanding scores. I also achieved a 100% pass rate on algebra STAAR test (Texas’ standardized exam) in middle school.
Hobbies and interests:
I enjoy playing soccer and travelling. I have visited over 50 countries.
I once had a very distressed emotional student come into the tutoring center I worked at in Texas (UNT). Some of my coworkers seemed apprehensive of attempting to work with him. I decided to try my hand and I had a great experience. I calmed him down (which was very difficult as he could hardly sit still or form sentences given his stress level) and helped him settle and even carefully explain his issues with math and even a couple personal issues he was struggling with. He thanked me very warmly when leaving and I really enjoyed giving him some relief and hope while also blasting his Precalculus homework along side him.
