I am a certified teacher with more a decade of experience tutoring and teaching. I specialize in high school mathematics. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Florida and I tutor grades 5-College.

My tutoring style:

I have a sincere enthusiasm for the process of learning and I tailor my method of teaching to each individual student. To help students build their confidence, I strive to find anchor points that grasp students' attention to build their confidence in any subject or topic.  I believe it is my role to provide students with the tools, support, and guidance to develop confidence in any subject.

Success story:

A success story that often comes to mind is an experience I had with an 8th grader who I've been regularly tutoring in Math and Civics for over a year.  This student has severe attention difficulties and was struggling to learn how to identify states and remember their abbreviations. We spent 2 hours each day over the course of a week studying the US map and writing the state names with their abbreviations. By the end of the week, he could recall every state's abbreviation from memory and name each state on an unlabeled US map.

Hobbies and interests:

In my free time, I am a visual artist and musician. I play guitar, piano, ukulele, harmonica, and sing. I also paint and do graphic design work.
