I began tutoring in 2011. I have extensive math, physics, and chemistry tutoring experience in grades 6-12 and College. I have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry and I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.

I understand that students can come from different backgrounds and needs, so I seek to be flexible as a tutor and meet the student where they are at.

Difficulties can arise not only from issues with the subject material, but also from a poor study approach or busy life circumstances. I seek to build student motivation and confidence by enabling students to grasp difficult concepts and be equipped with a tangible study approach and a plan that works for them.

I believe that with the right learning approach and a willingness to work hard, students can learn anything they put their mind to. My chief aim is to inspire students to be lifelong learners who enjoy the subject matter.

I tutored one student in SAT Math every week for half a year. She was struggling to improve her scores on the SAT. She regularly scored just above 1200 but was aiming for something higher. She was willing to work hard but she was also busy as an athlete at a private school. I went over practice problems and tips and reviewed various practice exams that she had done. I gave her some suggestions for the week leading up to the exam date, as well as how to structure her study time and what to focus on, given her busy schedule. She grew in confidence and was able to increase her scores during the practice exams, while also keeping in mind her goal of why she was working hard. I do not know what her eventual score was, but her scores had improved steadily over the course of our time together, and she was confident going into the test.

I enjoy going running, hiking, and skiing. I also enjoy reading a good book, playing board games with friends and family, and baking.
