I am a certified teacher with almost two decades of teaching experience and three decades of tutoring. I have a Masters in Math and in Education. I am certified to teach math and computer science to grades 5-12 and I have taught in universities as well.

While I am a strict teacher, I am very passionate about the subjects I teach. I have helped numerous students with my advanced knowledge and the ability to teach a subject multiple ways in case the student does not understand the book method. I use the student-centric method which means they will do most of the work and this leads them to understanding the material better and faster.

While I have helped many students get high scores on math section of the ACT and SAT, there was one student who had tutors before and could never get above 700 on the SAT. I promised him I could if he took my lessons and did my homework. He was skeptical and didn't do as much of my homework as I wanted but still got a 730. When he admitted he didn't do much homework, I told him if he trained with me again he would do much better. Seeing that I got him a 730 without homework, he did homework this time and he was very surprised when he get a 800. He and his parents thanked my thoroughly.

I like solving logic puzzles, playing chess (when I was a teen I competed in state and national competitions for chess, math and computer programming) and helping students prepare for math competitions.
