I’m an experienced online math tutor with over 15 years of teaching experience, tutoring students since 2009. I specialize in making math concepts simple, clear, and engaging for students of different ages and learning levels. I use visual strategies, step-by-step explanations, and hands-on methods such as place-value blocks, number lines, expanded form, and standard algorithms to help students build strong mathematical foundations. My goal is to help every student understand the “why” behind math, develop confidence, and become an independent problem solver.

Tutoring Style

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated online math tutor who has been teaching since 2009. With more than 15 years of experience, I am passionate about helping students understand mathematics in a clear, simple, and engaging way. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to each student's individual needs and pace. I am patient with students who need concepts explained more slowly or repeated, while also challenging students who are ready to move ahead. My lessons focus on building a strong mathematical foundation through visual models, step-by-step explanations, practice, and review. I work with concepts such as place value, base-ten blocks, number lines, expanded form, regrouping, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and standard algorithms.

Success Story

One of my favorite experiences as an online math tutor was working with a student who initially struggled with place value, subtraction, and regrouping. Math problems that involved several steps often felt overwhelming, and the student lacked confidence in their answers. I started by slowing things down and using place-value blocks and number lines to make the concepts visual. Instead of simply showing the student how to get an answer, I asked questions and guided them through each step. We practiced together, reviewed mistakes, and revisited the concepts until they became comfortable.

Over time, the student became more confident and began solving problems independently. What was once a difficult subtraction problem became something they could approach calmly and systematically. The most rewarding moment came when the student completed a set of problems independently and proudly said, “I know how to do this now!” That experience reminded me why I love teaching: seeing a student move from “I can't do this” to “I understand it!” is one of the greatest rewards of being a teacher.
