I am a certified high school Mathematics and Computer Science teacher with 10 years of classroom experience. Throughout my career, I have taught mathematics ranging from Intermediate Algebra through advanced courses such as AP Calculus BC and IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL. I currently teach Java, Python, and Calculus, giving me extensive experience supporting students in both advanced mathematics and computer science. I enjoy helping students strengthen their problem-solving skills, tackle challenging concepts, and build confidence across both subject areas.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is friendly, thoughtful, thorough, and adaptable to the individual needs of each student and family. I take the time to identify gaps in foundational knowledge and skills that may be contributing to current challenges, so we can address them before they create difficulties with more advanced material.

Rather than focusing only on the problem in front of us, I work to strengthen underlying concepts, correct misconceptions, and build a solid academic foundation for future success. I adapt my instruction to each student’s learning needs and pace, with the goal of helping them become more confident, capable, and independent learners.

Success Story

One of my favorite success stories comes from my experience as a Teaching Assistant for College Algebra at a local college. Several of the students I supported came to me weekly after historically struggling with mathematics and lacking confidence in their abilities. Through consistent support, we worked together to strengthen foundational skills, master challenging material, and make the learning process enjoyable along the way.

Watching these students become more comfortable, confident, and successful in math reminded me just how rewarding the subject can be when students receive the right support. That experience continues to shape my approach today: I strive to help every learner experience both the joy of understanding mathematics and the confidence that comes from achieving meaningful academic progress.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying active through hiking, running, and lifting weights, as well as relaxing with a good book. I also enjoy expressing my creative side through playing guitar, creating art, and writing.
