I am an experienced K–12 mathematics tutor with a passion for helping students strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. I hold a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and have spent years supporting students across a variety of grade levels and learning needs. My tutoring approach focuses on building strong mathematical foundations, improving study habits, and developing effective problem-solving strategies. I work closely with each student to identify areas of difficulty, break down challenging concepts into manageable steps, and reinforce essential skills that support long-term academic success. In addition to mathematics tutoring, I have experience preparing students for standardized exams, including the SAT, ACT, and comparable assessments. I help students strengthen their subject knowledge, become familiar with exam formats, and develop practical test-taking strategies to approach their exams with greater confidence. Above all, my goal is to create a supportive, encouraging, and personalized learning experience where students feel comfortable asking questions, overcoming challenges, and recognizing their academic potential. I strive to equip every student with the knowledge, confidence, and independent learning skills necessary to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Tutoring Style

I have a genuine passion for teaching mathematics and helping students recognize its value in everyday life. I believe math becomes much more approachable when students understand how concepts connect to real-world situations, and I strive to make each lesson engaging, practical, and easy to follow.

My tutoring philosophy is centered on patience, adaptability, and individualized instruction. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching methods, explanations, and pacing to accommodate each student's unique learning style. Whether that means breaking down complex problems into smaller steps, using relatable examples, or exploring alternative approaches, my priority is ensuring students develop a clear understanding of the material.

I also believe that asking questions is an essential part of learning. I always remind my students that "there's no such thing as a dumb question," and I work to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where they feel comfortable expressing confusion, seeking clarification, and exploring new ideas.

Ultimately, my goal is to build students' mathematical confidence, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and encourage independent thinking so they can approach challenging concepts with greater understanding and assurance.

Success Story

One of my most memorable SAT Math tutoring success stories involves one of my very first students, who had been diagnosed with dyscalculia and struggled with understanding mathematical concepts and the steps required to solve problems. Math had always been challenging for her, and as the school year progressed, her difficulties began to affect her confidence and belief in her academic abilities.

From our first few sessions, I focused on breaking down mathematical concepts into manageable steps, providing patient explanations, and adapting my instruction to her individual learning needs. It was incredibly rewarding to see her excitement when the material finally began to make sense. After one of our early sessions, she enthusiastically told her mother, "The math is mathing!" That moment was a wonderful reminder of how meaningful even the smallest breakthroughs can be.

Over the next couple of months, we met twice a week, working through a variety of SAT Math question types, reinforcing foundational skills, and developing practical test-taking strategies. With consistent practice and encouragement, she gradually became more comfortable approaching problems that had previously seemed overwhelming.

By the time she took the SAT, she had achieved a score she once believed was beyond her reach. More importantly, she developed a newfound sense of confidence in her mathematical abilities. This experience reinforced my belief that personalized instruction, patience, and consistent support can help students overcome learning challenges and achieve goals they never thought possible.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and capturing beautiful scenery through photography. I have a passion for collecting vintage cameras and love using them to photograph memorable landscapes and moments from my travels. I'm also an avid movie enthusiast who enjoys watching films across all genres, discovering new favorites, and appreciating the creativity and storytelling behind each production.
