I have more than 10 years of experience mentoring students in science, mathematics, and test prep. I have a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Miami and I tutor grades 3-College.

My tutoring style:

I am an organized, hardworking, and enthusiastic tutor who enjoys implementing engaging lesson plans for my students. My methodology for mentoring students utilizes specific teaching styles and metacognitive strategies to accommodate the needs of each student and provide an optimal learning experience. I am fond of associating academic concepts with everyday topics my students can relate to. Moreover, I provide each of my students with the necessary tools and an overarching strategy to successfully navigate through their academic coursework or standardized test preparation.

Success story:

My most memorable tutoring success story stems from the time I mentored the son of my dad's colleague, an exceptionally bright student who would be applying to medical school. He presented with two academic challenges during his undergraduate journey: a C average in his calculus course as well as an MCAT score of 500. We met twice per week for a period of four months. By providing him with a structured framework, positive reinforcement, and constructive feedback, his confidence improved, and he welcomed challenges as part of the learning experience. Over time, his Calculus grade improved to an A-, he scored a 512 on his second attempt at the MCAT, and he received an acceptance letter to his top choice of medical school.

Hobbies and interests:

Wakeboarding, hiking, fishing, sports (especially football, baseball, MMA), fitness training, nutrition, concerts, traveling, photography, video games.
