I am an experienced educator and academic coach with more than fifteen years of supporting students in science and general study skills. I hold a doctoral degree in leadership and have taught in both virtual and traditional learning environments. I enjoy helping students build confidence, improve their understanding of challenging concepts, and reach their academic goals. My background includes working with middle school, high school, and college learners from diverse educational experiences.
My tutoring style is supportive, structured, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than just memorize it. I take time to assess each student’s learning needs and adjust my approach by breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps. I encourage students to ask questions, explain concepts in their own words, and practice until they feel confident. I believe consistency, patience, and positive encouragement help students stay motivated and make lasting academic progress.
One of my favorite tutoring success stories involved a high school student who was struggling in science and had lost confidence in their ability to succeed academically. We worked together consistently to break down complex concepts, improve study habits, and practice test-taking strategies. Over time, the student’s understanding and confidence improved, and they were able to raise their course grade and successfully complete the class. Seeing their mindset shift from frustration to determination was incredibly rewarding and reminded me how meaningful individualized support can be.
When I am not tutoring, I enjoy spending time outdoors, listening to music, and cooking for my family. I also like reading, traveling, and learning about personal growth and wellness. I find that staying active and connected to creative interests helps me bring positive energy and focus to my work with students.
