I have been teaching high school mathematics for more than a decade and I tutor all levels of mathematics from elementary to college. I have a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education and I have taught AP Statistics and AP Calculus extensively.

Ages I've worked with:

Elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and adult learners.

My tutoring style:

I use questioning and open dialogue with my students to help them identify what they already know and what they need to know. Then, with encouragement and guidance, I help them find their own answers to the problems they encounter. By leading them in this way, I help my students develop stronger confidence in themselves and their ability to solve problems.

Success story:

I was brought in to help a 2nd grade girl who had just come into the US as an immigrant and had never attended school formally. I was asked to help her catch up in math, English, and other subjects. I spent the whole school year tutoring her extensively, and by the end of the year she was at the top of her class. She worked really hard and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

Hobbies and interests:

I am an avid sci-fi/fantasy fan! I love Star Wars, Dune, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games, Ender’s Game, Stargate, Star Trek, etc. I especially enjoy the movies of Christopher Nolan, probably liking Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight the best. I play cello and sing in men’s quartets as well.
