I have a proven record in instilling open communication and discussion with students for improved learning experience and academic performance. I have a master’s degree in mathematics from Northern Illinois University and I tutor grades 5-College.

My tutoring style:

When I first meet with a new student I always find out what they already know, what they are struggling with, their teacher’s style of teaching, their note taking skills and such.  I build upon their current knowledge and make suggestions that fit their style of learning.

Success story:

I had one student, Junior in HS, that was failing his math class so his parents sought out tutoring.  While he was struggling with the math concepts, he was also struggling with reading his own hand writing and spending just a bit too much time playing video games.  I worked with him and his parents on handwriting activities, besides math, and a schedule for school work/down time.  After 2 months his grade went from an F to a B+.
