I have years of experience tutoring eager learners of all ages. I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from California State University and I tutor grades K-College.
I am an understanding teacher, hoping to reinforce a strong comprehension in the subject matter. Each student has different needs and methods required in order to learn something, and I nurture their growth so that they become confident to overcome their weak points. I truly emphasize understanding a topic, so not only does the student learn the method to solve their problems, but also to be able to apply the same problem-solving skills into their daily lives.
One of my favorite success stories that I had the pleasure to be a part of was that a student of mine in 11th grade started lessons with me for pre-Calculus. He had absolutely hated math as a subject, and would never be in the right state of mind whenever anything math came up. When we had started having lessons, I saw him gain confidence in the subject, and he later showed that he retained understanding of his weak subjects later in our lessons. When he had graduated high school, I was told by his parents that he was in the top 10 in his school, and they had directly thanked me for my role as not only an educator in his life, but also being a positive influence in him growing up.
I'm admittedly a stereotypical nerd. I mainly like playing video games, generally all kinds of video games. These include intense, action-packed games like first-person shooters or action-adventure games, but also include the calmer, slower-paced games like farming simulators or puzzle games. Beyond that, I also really enjoy music, both listening to music and playing the violin.
