I am a certified math teacher with almost 2 decades of experience in classrooms teaching math at various levels. I have also expert level experience working with ESL students and am certified to teach Special Education.

Tutoring Style

I enjoy helping students deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts. I am passionate about meeting students at their level, whether that means slowing down or accelerating to match their needs. I love seeing students experience those “aha” moments as they build confidence and grow as learners.

Success Story

One of my favorite tutoring experiences was working with a student in College Algebra who came in with very little confidence. Early on, she told me, “My family just isn’t good at math,” and truly believed that her struggles were something she couldn’t overcome. Over the course of several weeks, we met multiple times each week, breaking down concepts in a way that felt manageable and building her confidence step by step.

Gradually, I saw a shift—not just in her understanding, but in her mindset. She began to approach problems with more confidence and less fear. By the end of the course, she earned an A in College Algebra. More importantly, she no longer saw math as something that would limit her.

Hobbies & Interests

I am a little bit of a "geek" in a sense that I play chess and various types of card games. I also love sports such as the Kansas City Chiefs of the Atlanta Braves. Finally, I am an avid animal lover.
