I am a certified teacher from Spain. I have been tutoring bilingual students in grades 1-10 for more than five years. I have a master's degree from Sacred Heart University. My time working in the classroom has inspired me to create more authentic and real-world lessons suitable for all my student’s abilities.

My tutoring style:

Coming from a unique multicultural background has helped me understand the diversity in the backgrounds of other learners. All students think differently and they will learn the material most effectively when a range of strategies are presented. My teaching style is student-focused; I empower students to take an active role in their own learning by reflecting throughout the process. My goal as a teacher is to awaken my student’s curiosity and make them accountable for their own learning.

Success story:

A family came to me because their 2nd grade child was struggling with reading. The student faced an additional challenge with a learning disability. Our common goal for the student was to spark a passion for reading. The first thing we did was to collaborate to create a goal for him. He started to gain tremendous motivation by being included in his own learning process! I quickly identified his learning styles and his favorite interests, so our sessions were personalized and suited to match his learning abilities. The student responded very well to positive reinforcement so I always encouraged him to continue working hard and showed him his progress in reading using a visual chart. In a matter of three weeks, the student’s confidence grew, and most importantly, he changed from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, a skill that he will undoubtedly carry on for the rest of his educational life.

Hobbies and interests:

When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking vegan dishes for my family, gardening, and relaxing on a yoga mat.
