I am a passionate teacher who adores tutoring students of all age groups. I have almost a decade of experience working with students in humanities and math courses. I also love working with students on their writing!

Tutoring Style

I am an enthusiastic teacher who strives to keep a safe, comfortable space to learn. I adapt and grow with the learner in order to give them the best chance at success. I'll meet the learner where they're at, and I'll reinforce whatever topics are needed for them to gain confidence in their classes.

Success Story

Math:

One success story is with an elementary math student, and specifically him learning his 9s multiplication facts. The 9s were tough for him, so I decided to use a trick that involved addition. I taught him that when you do a fact like 2x9=18, the numbers in the answer will always add up to 9 (1+8=9). Or, that 3x9=27 (2+7=9). He was so excited, he went and told his teacher about the trick the next day.

ELA:

Another of my success stories is having an ELD student from last year graduate from the program at his school. He worked hard last year to practice his reading, writing, and speaking skills. Now, he can write longer paragraphs and more complex sentences, and he has greater confidence in his ELA skills!
