I am a PA certified teacher for 7-12th grades. I have been tutoring online and in-person since 2014 and have over 10 years of experience. I have a bachelor's degree from Albright College in mathematics and chemistry. I tutor 7th grade through college level content.

Tutoring Style

I am very passionate about math but understand not everyone loves it the same way I do. I try to break down math as many ways as I can to help students understand content they might be struggling with. I like to help students understand where different formulas come from and understand them better than just memorizing everything. My teaching style varies depending on the student's needs and understanding.

Success Story

Math:

A success story I am most proud of for a math student was when I was able to help change a student's grade and their opinion of math at the same time. They came to me strongly disliking math and doing poorly in the class, but it turned out they only disliked math because they did not understand. By breaking down the material from the class they were struggling with, and filling in some gaps they had, they were better able to understand the course material. By the end of the school year their grade was much better, but also they no longer disliked math!

Chemistry:

A success story I am most proud of for a Chemistry student was when I was able to help a student understand material from the beginning of the year that caused them to struggle with end of year material. I started working with a student midway through the school year, just after midterms, and they were having a hard time with chemistry. As we worked together we would split our focus half on current material and half on beginning content to help them understand how the content was all linked. By filling in the holes they had from the beginning of the school year they were able to improve their understanding and their confidence!
