I am an adjunct professor in chemistry at a local community college with roughly 10 years of teaching/tutoring experience. I have a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Hofstra University in Long Island and received both my Master's and PhD in Chemistry from Syracuse University. I tutor grades 8th to College.

My tutoring style:

I love engaging with my students. Science is my passion so I love to see people who are also passionate about learning about it. I like to let my student drive the time we spend together, they bring me the specific problem or question they have, and we work to figure out how to help them succeed going forward. My experience has helped me realize that every student learns differently and thus it is important to mold my teaching approach based on how they learn.

Success story:

One of the best feelings I have ever had working with students is when I had a student reach out to me after they had taken my course. I once had a student who took the first half of General Chemistry with me but was unable to get into my second half section. They reached out and asked if they would still be able to come to me for office hours and help because they appreciated how easy it was to approach me and ask for help. This student started my course as a C student at best but finished both sections of the course with a strong A.

Hobbies and interests:

I love the outdoors. My wife, son and I spend as much time outside in warm weather as we can, going on hikes, working on our garden, or just enjoying the sun. When it comes to the fall and winter you can usually find me parked in front of the TV watching college and professional football. In the spring and summer you can find me at the ballpark watching baseball games as much as possible.
