I have more than 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have a master’s degree in math from Northern Arizona University and I tutor grades 7-College.

My tutoring style:

I enjoy getting to know the students I work with so I can help them see math in a way that makes sense to them. Working problems is important, but so is learning how to read textbooks, understand notes from class, and think about the material in a big picture. I teach and encourage good study habits as well as math test-taking tips.

Success story:

I tutored a delightful young woman for her last 3 years of high school. She had a different learning style and was extremely shy, so was not thriving in the classroom. By meeting her where she was socially and academically, each time we worked together I got to see more and more of who she was. Soon, her sense of humor surfaced, as did her appreciation of art. By the end of our time together, I saw a confident young woman who was ready to go on to college at Baylor.
