I am an English educator with experience teaching reading comprehension, writing, ELA, poetry, British Literature, and American Literature. I have a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and tutor grades 4-Graduate.

My pedagogy and practice is student-centered. Tailoring sessions to the learning goals and needs of my students is priority. This pedagogical approach ensures that my students feel empowered to express what teaching styles work for them as we work together to ensure their success.

Success Story:

One of my memorable success stories was helping a high school senior write her personal statement for college. Initially, she was hesitant and didn't feel like she had anything special to write about pertaining to her educational journey and life experiences. However, through multiple sessions of brainstorming, writing out major accomplishments, major life lessons, drafting, and revisions etc, my student wrote a superb essay which got her into college! She aspires to become a criminal attorney.
