I am a certified teacher with nearly two decades of classroom experience teaching Science and Social Studies. My areas of expertise include Life and Physical Science, Biology, AP Environmental Science, Ancient History, World History, U.S. History, Government, and Economics. I am bilingual and hold a Master’s degree in Education from UCLA. I tutor students in grades 6–12.
I am a passionate teacher who cares deeply about student growth and development. I strive to put students in the driver’s seat, empowering them to take ownership of their learning while guiding them along the way. I adapt my teaching to meet a variety of learning styles and modalities to bring out the best in every student. I believe in a strengths-based approach while intentionally building new skills. I reinforce the topics we cover by revisiting them in multiple ways to ensure deep understanding and long-term success.
One of my most rewarding success stories involves a student who began our work together struggling with consistently low grades and a lack of academic confidence. Through dedicated, twice-weekly sessions over the course of a full semester, we focused not only on improving performance across multiple subjects but also on building effective study habits, critical thinking skills, and a stronger sense of self-belief. Over time, his GPA improved significantly, opening doors that once felt out of reach. He was ultimately accepted into the university of his dreams, went on to complete graduate school, and is now thriving as a successful professional. This journey is a powerful example of how the right support, structure, and mindset can create lasting transformation.
When I am not tutoring I write and produce music, tend to my garden, and enjoy the outdoors.
