I am a patient and kind person. I have taught and tutored for decades. I have a talent of helping students find what motivates them. I can help students develop confidence and determination. These are very important in order to succeed. I tutor grades 4-10 and specialize in math and ELA.

Tutoring Style

I get to know each student and determine what style(s) of learning works well for each individual. Together we find their starting point in the subject we are addressing, and I help them grow from that point. Every student has an individual journey. Let me help you find yours.

Success Story

Math:

I have had many students tell me that they never liked math. I had one particular student tell me that before they worked with me, they thought they never could pass a math class. At the end of their high school education they told me that they wanted to pursue a masters in mathematics because they loved it so very much! I was thrilled and so grateful to be a small part of their journey.

ELA:

I have been teaching English Language Arts for decades. I had the great joy of having a young adult in their 30s look me up on Facebook and thank me for teaching them grammar. They said in their job they were working in a conference room with a handful of peers and they were drafting a document. A light-hearted discussion came up about how to word a certain complicated phrase. My former student said something to the effect that she was sure and suggested to Google the grammar. This was before AI. Her friends asked how she knew that. She replied, "I had a good middle school English teacher."
