I am a lifelong learner and educator with more than five years of experience teaching and tutoring both in person and online. I specialize in Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, and French. I hold a bachelor's degree from Montana State University, Billings, and I teach and tutor students from 6th grade through college.

Tutoring Style

In the words of the late educator Rita Pierson, "Teaching and learning should bring joy," and I try to embody that philosophy in every session. I teach and tutor with enthusiasm, positivity, and genuine joy, because I want my students to experience learning as something fun rather than stressful. Many students come to me after facing repeated disappointments and failures, to the point where they associate learning with headaches and frustration. My goal is to break that pattern by rebuilding their confidence and helping them see that success is not only possible, but enjoyable. I adapt my approach to each student's pace and needs, because a tutoring style that brings out genuine enjoyment is one that truly lasts.

Success Stories

Human Anatomy and Physiology: One of my favorite success stories is tutoring a student who struggled with ADHD in Human Anatomy and Physiology throughout the school year. We worked together consistently, adapting strategies to fit how she learned best, and she went on to become one of the top students in her class. Months later, I found a note she had secretly left in my tutoring notebook, thanking me for my help — a moment that reminded me why I love this work. ‍

Biology (General/College): I tutored a student in Biology for a full semester, and he improved so much that he asked me to tutor him again the following semester — this time in a different subject. Even though I was upfront that other tutors were better suited to that particular subject, he insisted on working with me because of the trust we had built. I agreed, and it's one of the moments that best reflects the kind of rapport I try to build with every student.

Nutrition and Pre-Physical Therapy: I once tutored a student preparing to retake the national licensure exam for physical therapy assistants after a previous attempt. She came to me feeling apprehensive and unsure of her abilities, so we spent the academic year steadily building both her knowledge and her confidence. When she found out she had passed, she called me personally to thank me, telling me I had played a big part in her success.

Hobbies & Interests

When I'm not tutoring, I love sports — especially soccer, basketball, and American football — whether I'm playing with friends or watching a good game. I also enjoy reading a good book and watching movies or TV shows in my downtime. Outside of that, I value spending quality time with my family, whether we're cooking together or simply enjoying each other's company at home.
