I am a certified teacher with 2 years of experience in the classroom teaching science and 3 years as a microbiologist for a public health institution. I have a passion for STEM, specifically science and math. I graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a bachelor's degree in Biology and I tutor grades 3-10.
My favorite method of tutoring is through homework help and test preparation. I will also provide additional activities if they need to strengthen a skill not being prioritized with the current curriculum, whether that be to slow down or jump up in levels. I am more than happy to meet the student where they are, matching the pace of the student and repeating myself if needed.
I tutored a high school student for one year via Google Meet in physics and trigonometry. She was struggling a lot in the beginning of the year, often failing tests before we started meeting. We met mainly before tests but also when she needed help with homework assignments. Throughout the year, we practiced comprehending what the question was asking and identifying which formulas to utilize. Her grade improved a lot and she passed the end of year exams!
I enjoy dancing, specifically tap, jazz, and hip hop. I also spend a lot of time reading books, my favorite genres are mystery and fantasy. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my 5 year old maltese and watching tv shows and movies!
