I can help a student not only understand complex chemistry concepts in a simple way, but further assist them to enjoy the subject matter and grow confidence. I earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Riverside and I tutor grades 1-College.

My tutoring style:

The isn’t a single model of tutoring style that applies to all students. Empathy, enthusiasm, patience, great communication as well as extensive experience and knowledge of the subject are implemented. I like to use visuals, humorous stories and art to convey many concepts because a talking head + chemistry will put any student to sleep! If it wasn’t for chemistry, I would be an artist as a profession.

Success story:

I once had a high school student who appeared apathetic and halfhearted. However, when she solved chemistry problems and was asked concepts, I saw a great potential in her abilities to understand the material. Eventually, her mother contacted me and told me that while her daughter really enjoyed chemistry ever since she started tutoring with me, she suffered from severe clinical depression ever since middle school and wasn't able to adequately express her excitement and joy.

After several months of tutoring, she achieved the highest grade in the class. Prior to tutoring, she had zero interest in going to college because her school teachers only saw an uninterested, depressed, and underperforming child based solely on her exterior. To her parents’ surprise, she had told them that she wanted to be a chemistry major and wanted to go to college. Ultimately, she not only finished as a top student in her chemistry class, but also succeeded in other classes as well and was accepted to University of Pacific pharmacy program.
