I have been teaching for 14 years in top ranked international schools and love working with all student levels to bring about their individual success. I am licensed to teach math 6th-12th grade but have also taught MS social studies, science and design. I am a mother of three with two having special needs which has equipped me to be an empathetic teacher capable of differentiation.
I have worked with students in 6th through 11th grade.
I like to hear what the student’s goals and challenges are and then determine a plan for success. Each tutoring experience should be individually crafted towards their needs.
When COVID hit, we had to move to online learning which was very difficult for a few of my students. One in particular had to repeat Algebra I the next year as she just wasn’t able to maintain the focus needed with online learning. We began the next year with her in a small class and I challenged the class to see if they wanted to cover just Algebra I for the year or work at a faster pace and get through Geometry also. As a group they chose the harder option and even though we had a couple more points of online learning, they were able to successfully finish Algebra I and Geometry that year allowing them to join back with their peers for Algebra II. Not only that but they collectively said it was their favorite and most enjoyable class!
I love to play and coach soccer, relax with a good book and explore the outdoors with my family and our dog, Hugo.
