I am a certified math teacher with over 25 years of experience teaching and tutoring math. I have an Educational Specialist degree in Math Education from the University of Missouri and I tutor grades K-College.

Tutoring Style

I believe all students can learn math! I enjoy helping students who are struggling with math concepts achieve that Aha! moment. I understand that sometimes students need concepts explained in more than one way. I lead students through problems by asking them questions to deepen their understanding. I love learning with students!

Success Story

My favorite success story is about a student in my AP Calculus BC class who was struggling at the beginning of the year. She started joining me for tutoring a few times per week. Although she felt like giving up, she continued to improve. At the end of the year, she told me the class was challenging, but she really enjoyed it and she understood it because of the tutoring sessions.

Hobbies & Interests

One of my favorite things to do in my free time is to spend time with my family. We enjoy boating, being outdoors, and playing board games. I have several flower gardens at my house and love to spend time caring for them. I also love pets; we have 4 cats, a guinea pig, a dog, and 6 chickens. Another favorite pastime of mine is reading, particularly murder mysteries. I also enjoy reading series like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games.
