I have been a tutor and high school science teacher for over a decade. I have had to prepare students to take state tests, with my classroom teaching experience, as well as tutoring students in both the ACT and SAT tests. Although I specialize in math and science, I have helped students with all sections of the test, and boost their overall scores.

Tutoring Style

I tutor by scaffolding questions and then offer similar practice problems for students to attempt. I like to meet the students where they are and help them relate the material to their everyday lives. I also offer tips and tricks for test questions that can help eliminate distraction answers and speed up their ability to respond to the questions.

Success Story

One of my previous tutoring students was just taking ACT test prep because their parents had signed them up for it . This student had no plans on going to college after high school. After only a few sessions I was able to show this student the growth that they had gained through our time together and they began asking questions about higher education. This student decided to and is currently attending a post secondary school, and the scores that they received on the ACT granted them admittance and scholarship opportunities at the college that they choose to go to.
