I have over 30 years experience teaching high school math and AVID. I have taught math in English and in Spanish. I have a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Spanish. I am experienced with remote teaching and tutoring.

Tutoring Style

My students have always complimented me on my patience and my clear explanations of what they need to learn. This requires open communication and the safety of knowing that mistakes are better opportunities to learn, not failures.

Success Stories

One of my success stories is from a student who was in my very first class when I started teaching. He had just arrived in the US with very limited English and as a 9th grader he was in a PreAlgebra class. He helped me to improve my Spanish and I helped him with English and Math. I taught him and tutored him all the way through high school to get him ready for 4-year university success. He is now a veteran math teacher at a neighboring high school.

Hobbies & Interests

My hobbies and interests include cycling, traveling, and 80's music.
