I am a future medical student who recently graduated with a bachelor’s in Biology (Pre-med). During my undergraduate, I served as learning assistant, tutor, and research assistant for 3 Chicago-based universities. My passion is STEM.
I love visuals. We can all agree that studying science and math can be bland. I love to incorporate quizzes, games, videos, whiteboard practice, and other interactive visual aids to better my students’ learning. My style is also adaptable by creating a learning environment that best suits each student for each session.
One of my favorite students who I’ve been tutoring for about 3 years was having some issues understanding chemistry. It was beautiful to see her progress with each session as we met twice per week to review homework and practice problems. After passing her classes, she then started tutoring herself in the same subjects that she once feared.
I’m a foodie! I spend a lot of my time researching nutrition, food science, and trendy restaurants. Prior to becoming a student scientist, I worked as a cosmetologist. Beauty has always been a big part of my life too. When I was younger, I dabbled in activities related to beauty such as fashion shows and hair shows. Expressing art through different lenses is what inspires me to this day.
