I have a Bachelor's in Mathematics & Economics from Austin College in Sherman, TX. Upon graduating in 2018 I became a classroom teacher and remote/in-person tutor for students ranging in age from elementary kids to college level students. I specialize in Mathematics, specifically Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus (I, II, AB/BC) but have worked with students in all subjects including reading comprehension/writing, sciences, social sciences for middle school and early high schoolers. I am currently working on my Master's in Journalism at Northwestern Medill School of Journalism.

Tutoring Style

I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs, making sure they know that this is a collaboration between me and them, aiming to make their academic lives easier and more fulfilling. I try to emphasize progress and empathy, knowing every student's path is different.

Success Story

I have worked with many students who loathe math and anything associated with math class. They dread class, homework, quizzes, tests, everything. My philosophy on working together and emphasizing the details in making small obstacles overcomable really works as a tool of progression and has led to some outstanding work in making my students lives easier.

One of my proudest tutoring experiences was with a 9th-grade student who had just come off a difficult year in Geometry, finishing with a D. At the time, he struggled to stay focused, wasn’t particularly motivated, and didn’t see the point in putting in extra effort.

When we started working together twice a week, we built a consistent routine and focused not only on the material itself but also on developing strong study habits. Little by little, he began to take ownership of his learning. He committed to staying ahead of homework and assignments so that he could walk into quizzes and tests fully prepared.

Through his diligence, discipline, and determination, he completely turned his story around. By the end of the next year, he didn’t just pass—he earned an A+ in Geometry. Watching him transform his mindset, apply himself, and ultimately excel was incredibly rewarding, and it’s a reminder of what’s possible when a student truly commits to their own success.

Hobbies & Interests

I am a huge sports fan so you can usually find me watching a football, basketball, or baseball game. I am also a huge fan of the beach and mountains, any nature really and love hiking, surfing, and relaxing in beautiful scenery.
