I am an experienced mathematics teacher and tutor with a master's degree in Mathematics and a strong background in supporting students across a wide range of grade levels and academic abilities. My teaching experience spans elementary school through 12th grade, as well as college-level mathematics, allowing me to work with learners at different stages of their mathematical development. In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I provide individualized mathematics tutoring for students in grades 3 through college. My experience working with students at various academic levels has equipped me to identify learning gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and simplify challenging mathematical concepts to make them more approachable and easier to understand. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their mathematical abilities, develop effective problem-solving strategies, and achieve meaningful academic progress. Whether a student needs additional support with foundational concepts or guidance through more advanced coursework, my goal is to provide patient, engaging, and personalized instruction that encourages understanding, independence, and long-term success in mathematics.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring approach is individualized, patient, and focused on each student's unique learning needs. I believe that effective tutoring begins with understanding how a student learns best, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, and adapting my instructional strategies to create a meaningful and productive learning experience.

I emphasize active participation, clear explanations, and step-by-step instruction to help students develop a thorough understanding of mathematical concepts. I carefully adjust the pace of each session to match the student's level of understanding, ensuring that no important steps or foundational concepts are overlooked. My goal is to help students understand not only how to solve a problem but also why each step is necessary.

When students have specific assignments or classroom material to review, I use those resources to guide our sessions and reinforce their current learning objectives. When assignments are not provided, I take a proactive approach by creating personalized practice problems and targeted learning activities that address the student's individual needs and strengthen areas requiring additional support.

Above all, I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions at any point during our sessions. By combining patience, consistent practice, and individualized guidance, I help students build mathematical confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and become more independent and capable learners.

Success Story

One of my most rewarding tutoring success stories involved working with a high school student who was struggling significantly in Algebra 2. When we began working together, the student had already taken the course once and was repeating it after experiencing difficulty mastering the material. The student was consistently earning D's on tests and needed additional support to strengthen their understanding and improve their academic performance.

I focused on identifying gaps in foundational mathematical skills, breaking down challenging concepts into manageable steps, and providing individualized practice to reinforce understanding. By adjusting my explanations and pacing to meet the student's needs, I helped make complex Algebra 2 concepts more approachable while encouraging the student to ask questions and actively participate in the learning process.

Through consistent practice, patient instruction, and targeted academic support, the student began making significant progress. Over time, their test grades improved from D's to A's and B's, reflecting a meaningful transformation in both their mathematical understanding and academic performance.

Most importantly, the student was able to successfully pass Algebra 2 after previously struggling with the course. Seeing the student overcome these challenges and achieve a goal that had once seemed difficult was incredibly fulfilling.

This experience reinforced my belief that with individualized instruction, encouragement, and a strong foundation in mathematical concepts, students can overcome academic setbacks and achieve meaningful success.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy a variety of activities that keep both my mind and body active. I love challenging myself with word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, which allow me to exercise my creativity and problem-solving skills. I also enjoy writing as a form of self-expression and spending time outdoors riding my bike. These hobbies provide a wonderful balance of relaxation, creativity, and physical activity.
