I am a National Board Certified Teacher who has worked with middle school mathematics students, grades 6-8, for 20 years. I have worked with students in all ranges of classes, from intervention classes, special education students, on grade level, honors, and accelerated. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education, Masters in Middle School Math, and became Nationally Board Certified last year.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is nurturing and comfortable . I want my students to build their confidence and feel empowered to improve their skills. I build a rapport and help students see the importance of learning. I try to instill better work ethics and willingness to push their abilities.

Success Story

One of my success stories is a 6th grade student who started the school year tutoring with me and was very timid and quiet. He needed support with building his multiplication facts, as well as practice with decimal operations. As the year progressed, he gained more confidence and worked hard practicing the skills we were focusing on. His multiplication fact knowledge doubled in 4 months, with his practice at home as well. He also began participating more in his math class and is now excelling. His parents even said his new found confidence carried over into joining a sports team and finding a great group of friends.

Hobbies & Interests

I love to be outdoors. I enjoy kayaking and golfing. I like to watch sports, especially basketball and football. I also like to build puzzles and listen to books. I enjoy hanging with my family and friends.
