I am a tutor with experience teaching students of all ages in many math subjects: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, College Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida, and I tutor grades 6-College.

Tutoring Style

I am a tutor who matches the energy of my student: I can be quiet and more focused on the problem at hand, or I can be energetic and talkative. My tutoring style is similar to my approach: I slow down and go step-by-step with repetition if needed, or I will jump to their level and go quicker for students who need less hand-holding. What's consistent, however, is that I always teach in a simple manner without the use of complicated terms and language. Additionally, I do not teach in a rigid fashion, often teaching multiple ways to go about a problem to find methods most comfortable for the student. Every complex problem I aim to break down into approachable chunks so that it is easier for the students to learn and digest.

Success Stories

One of my favorite success stories was an older person going back to college to change her career path. She hadn't done this type of math in years and always had a hatred for anything math-related, so, as expected, her College Algebra course felt daunting to her, and she did not initially understand the material well. I met with her every week, and she went from not understanding anything to passing her quizzes and tests. She started picking up on everything so well that she did not need additional prep for her finals and passed with an A.
