I have mentored and tutored a wide variety of students, ranging from 8th grade up to graduate-level students in math. I am a PhD graduate in math from the University of Texas at Dallas with experience teaching undergraduate students in math from algebra/pre-calculus up to differential equations and multivariable calculus.  I also have exposure in applying mathematics in real-world projects through internships at NASA and Sandia National Labs, as well as my PhD research at UT Dallas.

My tutoring style:

I take a practical, hands-on approach tutoring mathematics, making math a fun, engaging, and useful subject in my student's careers and lives. I also bring my nurturing and empathetic personality to tutoring and build rapport with my students, showing that I do care about their learning process. To facilitate learning math, I also like to use software like Desmos, Wolfram Mathematica, and MATLAB to help my students grasp abstract math concepts.

Success story:

Perhaps my most significant success story is when I was approached by one of my students during my last semester teaching differential equations at UT Dallas as a PhD candidate to express her concerns over passing the class after getting an F in her first midterm. She came ready to drop the class, but after seeing her potential in class, I encouraged her to stay and take the second midterm. I knew she had it in her to pass, as she was very attentive to me in class, scoring well in the in-class quizzes and catching my mistakes and even suggesting new approaches to problems. After some extra office hours and one-on-one coaching, she scored an 85 on the second midterm, and a 90 on the final and went on to pass the entire course!

Hobbies and interests:

When I am not tutoring, I like to go and hike in nature, run at the park, cook my own dishes, and plant gardens. I also like to travel to new locations and do road trips around the USA! My most recent trip was to Lake Tahoe, and it was beautiful! Other interests include cowboy stuff, Star Wars and Marvel movies, and dinosaurs.
