I have an advanced degree in Science Education and 20+ years experience as a Science tutor and informal Science educator. I have working knowledge of NGSS and inclusive Science education techniques. I use inquiry based learning techniques and tutor middle and high school grades in Science, and elementary and middle school in Math.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is dynamic, student-centered, and grounded in real-world STEM applications. I break down complex scientific ideas into simple, relatable terms and use real-world examples to make concepts accessible. I balance conceptual understanding with practical problem-solving and keep things structured but flexible. I meet each student where they are and adjust as we go. I tutor to build competence, confidence, curiosity and critical thinking skills.

Success Story

One of my tutoring success stories is about a student who was struggling to pass his Biology class He’d been failing quizzes and felt completely lost in class, but once we started working together, I focused on breaking the material into clear, manageable parts and connecting each concept to something familiar. His confidence and understanding grew and he passed the class and also achieved an above average score on the state-wide exam.
