I am a certified math teacher with 13 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have taught every level of high school Math and have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Education.

Tutoring Style

I am a patient teacher, making sure every topic that is covered is understood before moving forward. I will rephrase things to find different ways to explain something. I love to make math fun and engaging, and like to get to know the student's strengths and hobbies to make sure students feel comfortable learning from me.

Success Story

One of my favorite success stories is working with a young man who came to tutoring with a very clear goal: passing the math portion of his firefighter’s entrance exam. It had been several years since he had last taken a math class, and he felt discouraged because many of the concepts that once seemed familiar had faded over time. At the start, even basic problems felt overwhelming, and he worried he might not be able to get back up to speed.

Together, we focused on rebuilding his foundation step by step. We revisited key concepts, practiced consistently, and worked through problems in a way that helped the material feel familiar again. As the sessions went on, I could see his confidence returning. The math that once felt intimidating began to click, and he started solving problems independently and more efficiently.

By the time his exam arrived, he was not only remembering the material, but approaching it with a completely different mindset. He passed the exam and is now serving as a firefighter in Connecticut, which is incredibly rewarding to see.

Hobbies & Interests

I love reading or being outside! I love going out on my Stand Up Paddleboard, hiking with my dogs, or simply hanging out with friends around a bonfire.
