I am a certified Mathematics teacher with more than nine years of classroom experience, teaching students across Grades 1–9. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Mathematics from The National Teachers College in Manila, Philippines. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students across multiple grade levels, giving me a strong understanding of how mathematical skills develop and build upon one another. I currently reside in Arizona, and I enjoy using my experience to help students strengthen their foundational skills, understand challenging concepts, and build greater confidence in mathematics.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and student-centered. I use clear explanations, engaging activities, and step-by-step instruction to make challenging concepts easier to understand while helping students build confidence in their abilities.

I adapt my teaching strategies to each student’s individual learning needs, strengths, and pace, ensuring that lessons are both accessible and meaningful. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from them. Ultimately, I want students to develop stronger skills, greater confidence, and increased independence as learners.

Success Stories

One of my most rewarding tutoring experiences was working with a 4th-grade student who had repeated the grade twice and was struggling with math. Throughout the summer, we worked together to strengthen her foundational skills, build her confidence, and prepare her for the upcoming school year.

When she returned to school, her hard work paid off. She significantly improved her math performance and was recognized as a Math Achiever. Watching her grow from a student who struggled with math into one who was confident, successful, and recognized for her achievement was incredibly rewarding. Her progress reminded me of the meaningful impact that personalized instruction, encouragement, and consistent support can have on a student’s academic journey.

Although this particular success story centers on math, I bring that same individualized and supportive approach across the subjects I tutor, including Math, Science, and English Language Arts. Whether we are strengthening foundational skills, working through a challenging concept, or building confidence in a new subject area, my goal is to help each student develop a deeper understanding and recognize their own ability to succeed.

Hobbies & Interests

When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy sewing clothes for myself and my daughter, which gives me a fun way to be creative and develop new skills. I also love cooking and baking, especially trying new recipes and preparing meals for my family. When I have some extra free time, I enjoy playing Xbox, particularly Supermarket Simulator. I’m drawn to hobbies that allow me to be creative, learn something new, and, most importantly, have fun!
