I am a certified teacher with a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas (Go Hogs!). I have taught and tutored math for 15 years, primarily grades 9-11. I am comfortable working with students of all ages, but prefer to work with grades 5-11.

My Tutoring Style:

I place emphasis on meeting you (the student) where you are. I understand that math is not the most important thing in your world, but I also know you are better at it than you think. I pride myself on being able to prove that you can succeed. I do my best to make the learning challenging but very doable, and even fun!

Success Story:

I had yet another student come to be claiming they hate math, are bad at math, etc. After working with her for only a couple of days, she was saying things like "oh, this actually makes sense" and "wait, why did I actually enjoy doing math?" The following year, when her grade level was taking when of the standardized tests, she came to me afterward and told me that so much of what we learned was on the test, and she had no problem figuring out those questions. Get it, girl!

Hobbies & Interests:

I am a huge basketball nerd. March is my favorite time of year because of the NCAA tournament (March Madness!). I tend to combine my hobbies (math and basketball) by creating equations to predict the results of the tournament. I also love spending time with my dog (pit/boxer mix), playing my guitar, playing games with friends, and taking as many road trips with my kids as possible.
