I am a certified Christian teacher with more than ten years of experience. I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Spelman College, and I tutor grades 2-9.

My tutoring style:

In my sessions, we keep stress at a minimum and still maintain a commitment to excellence! I believe that learning can be fun even though hard work is involved. All of my students show a marked improvement in performance with consistent effort. Being part of a support system that makes a difference in the lives of my students, is truly the reward that motivates me.

My techniques and strategies are highly focused and flexible, tailored to an individual's needs and ability. I know that every student is capable of learning with the appropriate foundation and skills. We target a weakness and strengthen it, then fill in gaps of missed information, always pushing forward and building confidence/self esteem.

Success story:

I assisted a Geometry student who was challenged with dyslexia. Her visual ability for spatial discrimination was always a concern, but with careful preparation for each exam and consistent focus on where to compensate, we successfully achieved a grade of B. She is now attending college as a Business Major. Yahoo!!

Hobbies and interests:

When I'm not working, I love to write mystery stories which I plan to publish. I also enjoy bike riding and attempting to play my favorite songs on the piano.
