Kenneth

I am a certified teacher with 15 years of experience in classrooms teaching primarily math but I have also taught elementary social studies, ELA, and science. I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in elementary education. I am also certified in middle school math with 6 years' experience teaching exclusively middle school math. I specialize in tutoring math from elementary through Algebra I.

Tutoring Style

I am a teacher who is passionate about teaching math and helping students succeed. My tutoring style includes meeting the students where they are struggling, remediating concepts as needed and making sure I understand what the student is asking of me. I reinforce the topics we cover through review and practice, which includes asking the student to teach me how to solve a problem.

Success Story

I currently tutor a high school student through the school where I work who is struggling with basic math concepts. We are currently meeting one time per week. I start with reteaching a topic and then having him practice on his own. He did very well on one of his assessments, and his teacher officially commended me on collaboration.

Hobbies & Interests

I love to read, especially the Bible and other theology books, through I'm open to reading different kinds of fiction. I love to exercise, including strength training. I love animals and nature, such as hiking. I'm also a big science fiction movie fan, especially old sci-fi movies and Godzilla movies.
