I am a certified teacher with more than a decade of online teaching and tutoring experience in mathematics. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and I tutor math for grades 6-9.

Tutoring Style

I am an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about mathematics and believes that everyone has the potential to learn. I love getting to know my students personally and how they learn math. I adapt my teaching style to the learning style of my students and can break down concepts to the basics and teach from there. I also believe in meeting students where they are at and building math confidence from there.

Success Story

I had a special education student in Algebra 1 who needed a ton of help one-on-one, but she was super shy. I spent some time getting to know her and we bonded over our love of cats! We met 3 times a week and I was able to change problems to be about cats. We also rewarded ourselves by finding some wonderful viral kitties. Motivated by our shared love of cats, she wanted to meet more and for longer periods of time. She worked extremely hard to better her knowledge of Algebra at each and every meeting. She not only passed her Algebra 1 class, she raised her benchmark growth score! We plan to continue our meetings for the remainder of the school year.
