I'm a Math teacher with more than 12 years of experience in high school and college. I'm also an author of two Algebra books, and a creator of a Math Learning Website. I tutor Math, Science, Engineering, and Business Math to high school and college students.

Tutoring Style

I'm a passionated and patient teacher. I've been teaching for more than a decade and I enjoy helping my students understand their subjects and to be prepared for both school and professional life. I answer as many questions as you have and I'll try as many approaches as needed to make sure you are clear about the ideas learned.

Success Story

Math:

Without hesitation I can say I have more than a hundred success stories, but one of my favorites was a student struggling to even focus on her Algebra lessons at school. She felt math was not for her. After several weeks of hard effort, patience and different approaches she became strongly proficient in math. Now she loves math and is about to finish her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. I still tutor her every once in a while, but she does not need it as often as before.

Science and Engineering:

‍One of my students was really interested in Physics, she loved how almost everything can be explained through physics. She had a severe case of dyslexia which made it extremely hard to follow up with the math proofs and the understanding of more complex concepts, like wave behavior. Together we developed different approaches to each concept and created a visual learning environment that helped understand physics at a different level. As of today, she graduated college with a Civil Engineering degree and works in the design and maintenance of airport runways.

Business Math:

‍A long time ago I worked with a student who loved everything related to Economics and was really good about it, but he struggled with the math portion of it. He was able to explain the social behaviour behind economics, but he had a tough time backing it up with math. With patience we created a friendly environment to learn math and he ended up liking the math portion of economics as much as the other sections. Last time I knew about him, he was working for the national bank of Ecuador.

Hobbies & Interests

I've been a futbol (soccer) player since I was 6 years old. Even played at a professional level for a few years. I also love singing and playing the piano. Music in general is something I love. At least three times a week I go outside for a long run with my dogs.
