I am an experienced, supportive, and structured educator and tutor specializing in Business, Accounting, Finance, and Mathematics, working with grade 4 through college and adult learners in math and business math courses. I hold advanced degrees in Instructional Design and IT Project Management and am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and apply what they learn to real-world situations.

Tutoring Style

I am a culturally responsive tutor who brings a global perspective to my work. I grew up in the United States and spent four formative years living in South Korea during my high school years, with additional travel experience in Thailand. These experiences allow me to connect easily with students from diverse backgrounds and adapt my instruction to different learning styles, educational experiences, and comfort levels.

My tutoring style is patient, structured, supportive, and student-centered. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, emphasize understanding over memorization, and use real-world examples to make learning approachable. My goal is to help students build both strong academic skills and lasting confidence.

Success Story

Math:

A math student came to me struggling with Algebra and lacking confidence in their ability to succeed. We focused on strengthening foundational skills, understanding the why behind each step, and using clear, consistent problem-solving strategies. As their confidence grew, so did their performance. By the end of the term, the student raised their math grade by over a full letter and began approaching math with confidence instead of anxiety.

Business Math:

One of my most meaningful tutoring successes involved a high school student who was struggling to pass her Accounting class and felt completely discouraged. We met consistently each week, reviewed foundational concepts, and connected the material to real-life scenarios to improve understanding. Over time, her confidence grew, her grades improved from failing to a solid B+, and she became more engaged in class. By the end of the semester, she not only passed but also expressed interest in pursuing business courses in college.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy cooking and baking, especially creating and experimenting with new recipes, as well as working on creative design projects. I value personal wellness and enjoy exploring different therapy approaches and workout routines. I’m passionate about continuous learning—through reading, skill-building, and staying curious as the world evolves—and I love spending time both indoors and outdoors with my family and furbabies.
