I am a hardworking, energetic mathematics educator with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, dedicated to providing effective instruction for secondary students. I hold advanced degrees in secondary mathematics education and have extensive experience teaching Algebra and Geometry, while integrating technology and data-driven strategies to support student learning.
My tutoring style is student-centered, supportive, and focused on building confidence alongside content mastery. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and learning gaps, then tailor explanations and practice to meet their individual needs. I use clear modeling, guided practice, and interactive tools to make abstract concepts more accessible. Throughout sessions, I emphasize problem-solving strategies, multiple representations, and a growth mindset, helping students become independent, confident learners.
One of my tutoring success stories involved a student who was struggling significantly with Algebra and had little confidence in their ability to succeed in math. By breaking concepts into manageable steps, incorporating visual models, and practicing targeted problems, the student gradually began to understand and apply key skills. Over time, their assessment scores improved, and more importantly, their attitude toward math shifted from frustration to confidence. By the end of the tutoring period, the student passed the course and expressed genuine pride in their problem-solving abilities.
When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and taking time to recharge. I’m a big sports fan and enjoy watching and following football, baseball, and basketball, especially discussing games, teams, and strategies. I also enjoy reading, solving puzzles, and engaging in other activities that challenge my thinking. These interests help me build connections with students while keeping learning engaging and relatable.
