I am a certified science teacher with experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to middle and high school students in both classroom and virtual settings. I hold a bachelor’s degree in education and specialize in making complex science concepts engaging, accessible, and meaningful for students of different learning levels. I tutor students from middle school through high school and am passionate about helping learners build confidence and succeed in science.
I am a patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic tutor who believes that every student can succeed in science with the right support and approach. I adapt each lesson to my student’s learning style, pace, and confidence level—whether that means breaking down challenging concepts step-by-step, using real-world examples, or providing extra practice and review. I create a positive, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence, curiosity, and lifelong love for learning.
One of my favorite success stories was helping a Grade 10 Biology student who was struggling with Punnett squares and felt overwhelmed when solving genetics problems. I broke each problem into simple steps, using visual examples and guided practice to help the student identify alleles, determine parent genotypes, and predict offspring outcomes. With consistent practice and targeted support, the student’s assessment score improved from 50% (F) to 95% (A+), and they were able to solve Punnett square problems independently and explain their reasoning. Seeing that transformation from frustration to confidence reminded me why I love helping students discover that challenging science concepts can become manageable with the right support.
When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy playing pickleball, baking, and spending quality time with my family. I also love reading and relaxing with a good movie or TV series. I enjoy trying new recipes, staying active, and finding simple ways to make time for the people and activities I love.
