I am a certified mathematics teacher with more than a decade of experience tutoring and teaching! I have a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Maryland and I work with grades 6 - postgrad. I particularly love statistics, but many mathematics courses are in my wheelhouse!

I really focus on building student confidence and improving study skills alongside working on content. I like to explore problems from many approaches and with many tools. We go at your pace, which sometimes means we'll spend a long time on one problem to make sure you really get the fundamentals!

One of my favorite success stories is when I helped a high school freshman through her AP Physics class. We focused heavily on building confidence with physics problems and seeing what formulas might fit in a given situation. She was able to recover a failing grade to a B! I later worked with her on AP Statistics, where her confidence and care to understand formulas and when to use them was equally crucial!

In my spare time, I play video games, watch and read sci-fi and fantasy stories, and go on hikes and rock climbing! I also go on walks with my endlessly energetic dog Brandy!
