I am an experienced educator with 15+ years of tutoring experience, specializing in math and study skills for students from elementary school through college. I have a bachelor's degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University. I tutor math from grades 3-College.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is patient and encouraging. I focus on building confidence while helping students understand the concepts behind what they are learning. I identify gaps in foundational skills and break challenging material into smaller and manageable steps. I often start with a problem the student can successfully solve before gradually increasing the difficulty. I adapt my explanations and pacing to each student’s individual learning style. My goal is to help students overcome math anxiety and develop the confidence and problem-solving skills to say, “I can figure this out.”

Success Stories

One success story is a student who came to me struggling in Algebra I because of gaps in her Pre-Algebra foundation, which made learning new material difficult. We worked together twice a week, rebuilding her foundational math skills while also helping her understand the concepts in her current course. With consistent practice, her confidence grew, and she earned A’s in both Algebra I and Algebra II. After two years of working together, she has become a much more confident and independent math student and is now preparing for Calculus.

Hobbies & Interests

When I’m not tutoring, I spend time with my two Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Rolex and Sunny. We traveled throughout the country birdwatching. I also enjoy photographing, knitting, and sewing. I’m a lifelong learner myself and enjoy discovering new things that I can bring into my teaching and everyday life. Currently, I am working on becoming fluent in Spanish.
