I am a certified Biology teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching middle school, high school, and college-level students in the United States and the Philippines. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology and have extensive experience in tutoring Science to grades 6–college, focusing on building strong foundations, critical thinking, and student confidence.

Tutoring Style

My tutoring style is student-centered, supportive, and highly adaptable. I take time to understand each student’s learning style and pace, adjusting my approach by breaking down complex concepts, reviewing key ideas, and moving ahead when the student is ready. I focus on building strong foundations through clear explanations, guided practice, and real-world examples. Most importantly, I create a positive learning environment that builds confidence and encourages students to ask questions and think critically.

Success Story

One of my most rewarding tutoring experiences was working with a high school Biology student who was at risk of failing the course due to gaps in foundational concepts. Through consistent weekly sessions, targeted review, and practice using real-life examples, the student gradually gained confidence and understanding. By the end of the term, the student raised their grade from a failing level to a solid A and successfully passed the state assessment. More importantly, the student developed effective study strategies and a genuine interest in science that continued beyond our sessions.

Hobbies & Interests

When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy staying active through walking and light workouts, spending quality time with family, and exploring new places around California. I also enjoy reading science and health-related topics, watching documentaries, and finding creative ways to make learning more engaging. In my downtime, I value slowing down, recharging, and maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
