I am a well-rounded tutor with more than five years of experience teaching math, reading, English, SAT and ACT preparation, exam prep, and more, depending on each student’s individual needs. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and recently completed my graduate program at the University of Florida. Throughout my tutoring career, I have worked with students ranging from pre-K through college and beyond. I also have experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other learning differences.

Tutoring Style

I describe my tutoring style as a combination of humor, conceptual learning, and example-based practice, creating an engaging environment where students can understand material at any level, from foundational concepts to advanced topics. I excel at identifying exactly where a student is struggling and targeting those areas to address gaps in understanding and build a stronger academic foundation.

I also adapt my pacing, explanations, and teaching strategies based on each student’s individual learning style and preferences. By continually reinforcing foundational skills while introducing increasingly challenging material, I help students develop the confidence, understanding, and problem-solving skills they need to reach their personal and academic goals.

Success Stories

One of my favorite tutoring success stories began when I started working with a ninth-grade student partway through her Geometry course. She shared that frequent teacher changes in previous math classes had left her with significant gaps in her Algebra I foundation, while the fast pace of her current class made it difficult to keep up.

We began meeting twice a week and worked together to rebuild her mathematical foundation from pre-algebra onward, gradually strengthening both her skills and confidence. Through her hard work, consistency, and willingness to learn, she went on to earn A's in both Geometry and Algebra II.

I have now worked with her for two years, and she is preparing to begin Precalculus. One of the most rewarding parts of her progress is that she rarely needs my help anymore. She has developed the knowledge, confidence, and independence to retain what she learns and achieve the results she wants on her own.

Hobbies & Interests

I am a huge fan of animated shows and movies, and I enjoy reading books of all kinds. I’m also a gamer who loves any genre with a great story, as well as puzzle games like Tetris and Sudoku. In my spare time, I enjoy arts and crafts projects, especially building miniature homes.
